Getting a new puppy can be a happy, enjoyable experience but along with ownership of a new puppy comes new responsibilities and expenses. Please be prepared for these types of things when buying a new puppy. Also, puppies grow into dogs and unfortunately, no matter how accurate we try to be, we can not be sure of the size, color, or temperament of your puppy once he/she is fully grown. If these things are of grave importance to you we suggest that you purchase a fully grown dog so that you will know these things for certain. Each of our puppies sold are sold as companion pets only and will not be guaranteed for color, size, temperament, or breeding, although we do try our best to be as accurate as possible when providing this information to our buyers.

Each of our puppies here at Red Dirt are raised as part of our family and we love each one of them. In purchasing this puppy you agree to sending us updates on him/her and pictures if possible as well as notifying us in the event that you relocate so that we can stay in contact with you

Our puppies will have been wormed several times and given age appropriate vaccinations before leaving us here at Red Dirt, the puppy will be healthy, and is now guaranteed against any life-threatening congenital defects. We can not be held responsible for anything that your pet might come in contact with during or after transit to its new home. Stress is the leading cause of most illnesses in small puppies and this stress, unfortunately, can come from simply moving your puppy to its new home. It should be noted that diarrhea is common when puppies have been moved to a new environment. This is normal and is not covered under the health guarantee and should subside as the puppy gets used to its new home and surroundings. Please pay close attention to your puppy during its first few days with you to make sure that he/she is eating and drinking (Small puppies can become dehydrated very quickly if they develop diarrhea or do not drink.)

Although puppies are treated for parasites before leaving us here at Red Dirt there is always the possibility that puppies can come into contact with parasites during transit to their new home. This is why it is so important for you to have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinary within 48 hours of picking him/her up from us or from the airport or shipper or directly from us. This is required in order to protect you, your new puppy, and Red Dirt. In order for our guarantee to cover your puppy you must have this vet check performed during this time frame. Once the puppy is in the purchaser’s possession it now becomes their responsibility to make sure that age appropriate vaccinations and worming is kept up and that an adequate record of it is kept in order for any health guarantee to be honored. Any physical problem which is, or could be, the result of injury, overfeeding, underfeeding, or not having up to date records of vaccinations will not be covered under this guarantee. There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors such as allergies, thyroid dysfunction, mange, and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this guarantee. Minor defects that are of little consequence for the puppy's health such as a minor under bite, over bite, ears not standing, or a hernia will not be covered in this guarantee. In the event that a problem is found with your puppy you are required to contact us here at Red Dirt for authorization on how to proceed. Most cases will require him/her to be returned to us here at Red Dirt and a replacement puppy will be given to you as soon as one is available. Refunds will not be given under ANY circumstance and the buyer is responsible for the cost of transportation to and from us. Transportation and veterinarian charges incurred by the purchaser without prior authorization from Regina or Erick at Red Dirt is the sole responsibility of the purchaser and will, under No Circumstances be paid by Red Dirt. This includes all spay or neuter charges, hernia repair charges, parasite control or prevention, etc.

If, within the first year of the puppy's life (first 2 years for Great Danes), it is found to have a life-threatening congenital defect, send a detailed letter of explanation from your licensed veterinarian as to the nature of the defect and how it was found. (We must be notified at once at the onset of the problem.) Our veterinarian will interpret the report and, if he concurs, a replacement puppy will be given. DO NOT start any type of treatment on the puppy without first gaining authorization from Regina or Erick at Red Dirt. A puppy with a defect must be returned with the specified problem to qualify for a replacement puppy and Registration of the puppy must also be returned.

It is our goal here at Red Dirt to find a loving forever home for each of our puppies/dogs. However, we do understand that sometimes life makes things so that you are no longer able to provide that home for the animal. In the even that this occurs we do NOT want our animals to end up in a shelter or left abandoned or in a puppy mill. Therefore, you the purchaser agree that in the event that you are no longer able to care for the animal you will return it here to us at Red Dirt (at no cost to us) so that we may find a new home for him/her. It is also agreed that, in the event that you ever sell or give him/her away you will contact us here at Red Dirt for permission to do so and provide us with the name, address, and phone number of the potential new owner so that we may agree to the new placement beforehand.
